Politics
All Quiet Outside
January 3rd, 2017
The 115th Congress convened at noon today for what will likely be an historic session.  I went to see what was happening outside, expecting to see lots of news media and some protesters.  But there was no one at noon, except for this lone journalist setting up in the media area, one late entrant to the House of Representatives, and the usual guards.

Yes, it's a rainy day and that deters people.  But with everything going on, I hope that the media and the public keep in constant touch with the details of politics as things change in front of us.

I'm a D.C. native, but have only been taking photos for about five years. Even in that time, I've seen so many changes in D.C., and am increasingly interested in photographing the things in D.C. that are temporary or may be demolished, and the people who interact with the city. When I'm not out photographing, I'm a web developer.
